Ingredients

For the Burger Buns

250 g wheat flour
1 Teaspoon(s) dry yeast
1 Teaspoon(s) sugar
150 ml warm water
1 Tablespoon(s) olive oil
1 Teaspoon(s) salt
1 Teaspoon(s) apple cider vinegar

For the Kidney Bean Patty

400 g kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
1 carrot, grated
1 onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, crushed
2 Tablespoon(s) oats
1 Tablespoon(s) tomato paste
1 Teaspoon(s) cumin
1 Teaspoon(s) paprika powder
Salt and pepper to taste
2 Tablespoon(s) olive oil for frying

For the Guacamole

2 ripe avocados
Juice of 1 lime
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 tomato, diced
1 small chili (optional), deseeded and finely chopped
Salt and pepper to taste

  • Total time: 50 min

Prepare the Burger Buns

1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast with sugar and warm water. Let sit for 10 minutes until the mixture becomes foamy.
2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, olive oil, and apple cider vinegar. Add the yeast mixture and knead into a smooth dough.
3. Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour in a warm place until doubled in size.
4. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and shape them into round buns. Let them rise for another 30 minutes.

Prepare the Kidney Bean Patty

1. In a large bowl, mash the kidney beans with a fork or potato masher until slightly chunky.
2. Add the grated carrot, chopped onion, garlic, oats, tomato paste, cumin, and paprika powder. Mix well and season with salt and pepper.
3. Shape the mixture into 4 equal patties.
4. Heat the olive oil in a pan and fry the patties on both sides for about 4-5 minutes, until golden and crispy.

Prepare the Guacamole

1. Halve the avocados, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh out with a spoon.
2. Mash with a fork or blender until creamy.
3. Add the onion, tomato, chili (optional), and lime juice. Season with salt and pepper.

Assemble the Burger

1. Slice the burger buns. Place a patty on the bottom half of each bun and generously top with the fresh guacamole.
2. Add optional toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, or cucumbers, and place the top bun on.
3. Serve and enjoy!

Der Burger ist richtig lecker! Das Patty aus Kidneybohnen ist schön saftig und die Guacamole macht ihn richtig cremig und rundet den Geschmack gut ab. Kann man auf jeden Fall öfter machen!
