Ingredients

For the dough

500 g flour
1 Cube(s) of fresh yeast (42g)
80 g sugar
1 Pinch(es) salt
250 ml milk
2 eggs
80 g butter, melted
1 Teaspoon(s) vanilla sugar
1 Tablespoon(s) rum (optional)
Powdered sugar for dusting

For the filling (optional)

150 g jam (e.g., strawberry or apricot jam)
150 g or vanilla pudding (can also be homemade)

For Frying

1.5 l vegetable oil (e.g., sunflower oil)

Preparation

  • Preparation time: 40 min
  • Cooking time: 20 min
  • Total time: 1 h

Prepare the dough

1. Dissolve the yeast with 1 tsp sugar in the warm milk and let it sit for about 10 minutes until bubbles form.
2. Sift the flour into a large bowl, then add the sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, and yeast mixture. Mix with the eggs and melted butter and knead into a smooth dough.
3. Cover the dough and let it rest in a warm place for 1 hour until it has doubled in size.

Shape and fry the doughnuts

1. After the dough has risen, divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a small ball and flatten slightly.
2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot or fryer (to about 170 °C). Fry the doughnuts in batches, turning them golden brown on each side (about 3-4 minutes per side).
3. Once fried, place the doughnuts on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Fill and finish

1. Use a piping bag or spoon to fill the doughnuts with your choice of jam or vanilla cream.
2. Dust with powdered sugar and serve.

Die Faschingskrapfen sind super lecker! Einziger Kritikpunkt dass der Teig bei mir etwas länger zum gehen braucht als angegeben. Aber insgesamt empfehlenswert.

Mega Rezept! Der Teig ist echt einfach zuzubereiten, und das Ergebnis war super lecker. Ich war überrascht, wie gut sie geworden sind. Allerdings hätte der Teig vielleicht noch einen Ticken mehr Farbe bekommen können, aber geschmacklich einfach top!

Die Faschingskrapfen sind total lecker und lassen sich gut nachbacken! der Teig geht super auf und ist schön saftig. Ich hab noch Puderzucker draufgegeben, was den Krapfen noch besser gemacht hat. Absolute Empfehlung!
