For the Chili

1 kg Beef shoulder or brisket, cut into small cubes
2 Tablespoon(s) Olive oil
2 Large onions, finely chopped
4 Garlic cloves, chopped
2 Red bell peppers, diced
2 Cans (400 g each) chopped tomatoes
2 Cans (400 g each) red beans, drained and rinsed
2 Tablespoon(s) Tomato paste
1 Cup(s) Beef broth
2 Teaspoon(s) Ground cumin
2 Teaspoon(s) Paprika (sweet)
1 Teaspoon(s) Dried oregano
1 Teaspoon(s) Cayenne pepper (to taste)
Salt and pepper to taste
1 Teaspoon(s) Sugar
2 Bay leaves
1 Fresh green chili peppers, seeded and finely chopped (optional)

For Serving

Fresh cilantro, chopped
Sour cream
Grated cheddar cheese
Lime wedges

Preparation

Preparation

1.

Heat the olive oil in the STONELINE XXL Bratentopf over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and garlic and sauté until soft.

2.

Add the cubed beef to the pot and brown until it is cooked and slightly crispy. Add the diced bell peppers and sauté for another 5 minutes.

3.

Stir in the tomato paste and let it roast briefly. Then add the chopped tomatoes, beef broth, cumin, paprika, oregano, cayenne pepper, salt, pepper, sugar, and bay leaves. Mix well.

4.

Let the chili simmer over low to medium heat for about 90 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add water or broth as needed to achieve the desired consistency.

5.

Add the drained red beans and chopped chili peppers (if using) and let the chili simmer for another 30 minutes until the beans are heated through and the flavors are well blended.

6.

Remove the bay leaves and adjust the seasoning with additional salt, pepper, or cayenne pepper if needed.

7.

Serve the Chili con Carne hot, garnished with fresh cilantro, a dollop of sour cream, grated cheddar cheese, and a lime wedge.

Tolles Rezept, das Chili con Carne war sehr lecker...ich hatte extra eines mit Fleischstückchen gesucht....

Sehr gute Gewürz zusammenstellung, was ich jedoch noch mache, ich lass die Tomaten mit den gewürzen und Chillis schon am Vortag etwa ca. 4 Std. köcheln und füge die restlichen Zutaten erst am nächsten Tag oder auch später dazu, so kann sich die "Sauce" geschmacklich voll entfalten.

Kompliment ! Eines der wenigen Rezepte mit Rindfleisch, aus der Schulter, gewürfelt, so wie es sein soll. Alle Zutaten perfekt, auch der Serviervorschlag. Viele Rezepte basieren auf Hackfleisch...was mit dem Original absolut unvereinbar ist. Als das Gericht entstanden ist, gab es schlicht und einfach kein Hack. Punkt. Und in 30 Minuten gibt es auch kein ordentliches Chili.
