  • Total time: 40 min

Make the bread

1. Mix the water with sugar and yeast and let it sit for 10 minutes until the yeast starts to foam.
2. Combine the flour and salt in a bowl, add the yeast water and olive oil. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
3. Place the dough in a bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour in a warm place.
4. After 1 hour, knead the dough again and divide it into two portions. Shape into loaves.
5. Place the loaves on a baking sheet and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Prepare the pesto

1. Blend all pesto ingredients (basil, Parmesan, pine nuts, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper) in a food processor or mortar until smooth. Add more olive oil if needed.

Caramelize the balsamic onions

1. In a STONELINE® pan, fry the onion rings with olive oil until soft and lightly golden.
2. Add sugar and balsamic vinegar, stir well, and simmer for about 5 minutes until the onions are caramelized. Season with salt and pepper.

Assemble the sandwich

1. Slice the freshly baked bread and spread a generous amount of homemade pesto on each half.
2. Carefully place the burrata on the bread and top with the caramelized balsamic onions and sun-dried tomatoes.
3. Garnish with freshly ground pepper and basil.

Enjoy your homemade Burrata sandwich with pesto and balsamic onions – a true gourmet experience! Perfect for a quick lunch or as a showstopper at your next dinner. The use of STONELINE® pans ensures optimal results, especially when caramelizing the onions and frying the bread.
